I originally learned how to bind books in a books arts class in college. I fell in love with the coptic style of binding as the open spine allows the book to lay flat when writing, sketching and drawing. I decided to make Parkside Harmony books with Stonehenge 100% cotton paper. It is a heavier paper and holds up to wet and dry media including pen and ink, marker, watercolor paints and glue used in collage. Each book is unique with pages that have been hand cut and hand torn by me. The books are sewn using a double needle coptic stitch and waxed Irish linen thread.
